1. What is Mobey Forum?
Mobey Forum is a non-profit, global, financial industry-driven forum, whose mission is to encourage the use of mobile technology in financial services. It was established in May 2000 by a number of world's leading financial institutions and mobile terminal manufacturers.

2. Why was Mobey Forum founded?
The mission of Mobey Forum is to encourage the use of mobile technology in financial services. Mobey Forum aims to accelerate the take-off of user-friendly mobile financial services by promoting open, non-proprietary technology standards.

3. How does Mobey Forum work?
Mobey Forum mainly works through Quarterly Plenary Workshops, and through Task Forces and Workgroups, each with a different focus area. All members are entitled to participate to the Mobey Forum Plenary Workshops and taskforces. In the meetings the members work towards reaching the objectives of Mobey Forum. Each Workgroup and Taskforce have its own Chairman, and all activities of Mobey Forum are managed by the Executive Director.

The strategy of Mobey Forum is set by the Board of Directors, which consists of the founder members and other full members elected to the board. Mobey Forum Secretariat is responsible for all administrative operations and for organizing the Plenary Workshops.

The outcomes of the work include, for instance, comprehensive documentation on the recommended architecture for a wide range of financial services. To support the documentation and theories Mobey Forum has completed demonstrations and trials based on its recommendations and principles.

4. Who are the members of Mobey Forum?
Mobey Forum is a well-established, global organisation with over 40 members, each being an important player in their field of business. Mobey Forum membership encompasses leading financial institutions, payment processors, mobile operators and handset manufacturers as well as other technology vendors and companies that want to be actively involved in creating the future of mobile financial services. 5. Who can join the Forum and how?
There are two membership categories in Mobey Forum: Full members and Associate members. Full membership is targeted for financial institutions. As an Associate member, Mobey Forum welcomes any company which is interested in shaping the future of mobile financial services and being in active dialogue with the leading players in the financial services and mobile industries.

6. How do members benefit from being a member in Mobey Forum?

When the Mobey Forum vision is fully implemented, consumers will have a ubiquitous payment device with which they can use a wide range of financial services conveniently.

8. How does Mobey Forum relate to other industry associations and fora?
Mobey Forum looks at the m-commerce development and sets its requirements on it from the financial industry's perspective. Mobey Forum promotes secure, user-friendly, and convenient mobile financial services together with various other industry associations that Mobey Forum has a working relationship with. Currently we are actively working for instance with European Payments Council (EPC), GSMA, NACHA, NFC Forum – to mention a few.

9. What is relationship between Mobey Forum and mobile network operators?
A couple of pioneering mobile operators has already joined Mobey Forum. We have excellent experiences so far on the direct co-operation with them. It has proven to be very constructive and fruitful. We look forward to continuing the co-operation with the whole operator industry, both through direct membership and through the operator associations like the GSMA. It is the belief of Mobey Forum that successful Mobile Financial Services ecosystem can only be built through such co-operation across sectors, which respects the core business requirements of each key stakeholder.
