It’s that time of year when the key players from across the globe head to Las Vegas to discuss, debate and explore the future of money.
As a global industry association dedicated to empowering banks and other financial institutions to lead in the future of digital financial services, Mobey Forum is proud to partner with Money20/20 for 2017.
Maikki Frisk, Executive Director of Mobey Forum, will again be in attendance at the event and looks into what delegates can expect…
Building on Money20/20 Europe
While at Money20/20 Europe, hosted earlier this year in Copenhagen, the conversation was undoubtedly centred on the transformational and disruptive impact of PSD2, and the opportunities and challenges they present.
Across the pond in Las Vegas, the focus on specific EU regulation will naturally not be as prevalent. There will be a keen focus, however, on how banks can effectively adjust business models and commercial practices to embrace the open banking revolution, compete with the fintech challengers and add value to their customers.
Artificial intelligence to take centre stage
Money 20/20 Las Vegas allows the entire industry to take stock of the advancements from the year, and consider the technologies and trends that will shape the future.
As you would expect, the agenda for 2017 is packed. What stands out, though, is that the industry is getting serious about artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The idea of applying AI and ML technologies across all aspects financial services is nothing new, but to date deployments have been relatively limited and contained. A dedicated breakout session and considerable agenda time demonstrates that the industry is waking up to the potential value, and possible implications, of AI and ML on the future delivery of financial services.
Getting to the point
Considering the excesses of Las Vegas, perhaps one of the only things that will be in short supply are sacred cows.
Money 20/20 has a reputation for challenging the status quo and, occasionally, creating controversy. But with keynotes and panels that move beyond the platitudes to get to the heart of the issue, delegates benefit from the invaluable experience and opinions of industry leaders from across the entire industry.
At Mobey Forum, we believe that honest discussion, open collaboration and trust is the catalyst for better digital commerce and the creation of innovative, interoperable and competitive financial service solutions. We look forward to meeting you at Las Vegas!
