Alain Martin is Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and represents Gemalto with international organisations such as Visa or MasterCard, the FIDO Alliance and European bodies in the scope of the PSD2 regulation. Prior to this, he was responsible for the portfolio of mobile financial services products, addressing the mobile payment needs of banks, mobile operators and transport operators. He was for eight years regional managing director for Gemalto’s POS terminal division in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Overall, Mr Martin has 29 years of experience in the payment industry, 4 of which spent in the USA, primarily on the introduction of smart cards for electronic purse programs. He holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Institut National des Sciences Appliquées in Lyon, France.

Sirpa Nordlund is Senior Vice President in Issuing and eSecurity services and Country Director for Finland at Nets with focus on delivering new exponential payment services to banks and financial institutions. Nets connects banks, businesses and merchants with solutions making tomorrow a little easier for their customers.
Sirpa is an experienced leader at financial and hi-tech industry. She has held several management positions in sales, business development and finance at Nokia and later at Giesecke & Devrient. Sirpa came to Nets in 2017 from the position of Executive Director of Mobey Forum, a global industry organization empowering banks and financial institutions to lead in mobile money, which she held since 2010.
For 15 years, Sirpa has been internationally recognized commentator in digital transformation, both in fields of payments and leadership. She has had speaking engagements at global thought leader events, such as Mobile World Congress, European Payment Summit and Retail Banking Europe. Sirpa holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration, majoring in finance. She also has advanced studies in performing arts at Sibelius Academy (University of Arts), as well as Political Science at Helsinki University.

Vanita is the Vice President of marketing and product strategy and Simility. In this role she is responsible for establishing Simility’s brand, driving Similty’s go-to-market strategy as well as product and market positioning. Prior to Simility, Vanita worked at ThreatMetrix where she was responsible for the strategic vision and go-to-market for ThreatMetrix products and solutions. With extensive experience in strategy, innovation, product management and analytics within the payment industry, Vanita previously led merchant development and global go-to-market for Visa’s digital products. Prior to Visa, Vanita held a range of diverse positions at some of the world’s leading financial institutions including Capital One, Standard Chartered Bank and ABN AMRO Bank.
Kedar Samant is a seasoned technologist and a fraud and risk management expert. Kedar co-founded Simility and crafted the vision for Simility’s disruptive approach to fraud management. He has been key in establishing Similty’s product superiority and driving innovations. Kedar brings wealth of experience from his prior stint at Google where he built the platform for fighting fraud and abuse across Google’s products. Prior to Google, he held technology leadership positions across industries including banking and online services.
Sarah Häger is heading the Open Banking Community team who’s responsibility is to give the developers a good experience while realizing their ambitions on the Open banking platform. She is also Product Manager for an Agile release train and has the responsibility for Community and co-creation. She has worked in several countries (Europe-wide) and along the value chain, with the main mission to provide value for the customers. She is passioned about innovation, technology and to create commercial opportunities out of regulation.

Jonathan Vaux was appointed Executive Director, Innovation Partnerships by Visa Europe in 2014 to ensure Visa remains the preferred payment method as digital technologies evolve to change the way consumers buy and pay for goods and services.
Jonathan is focused on extending the Visa acceptance promise into new digital environments – whether it’s online or in-store, through a mobile or a tablet, in-app or through a digital wallet – and developing flexible ways for our partners to integrate Visa services into their commerce and banking platforms.
Ultimately, Jonathan brings the ‘voice of the customer’ into Visa’s digital strategy, making sure all of our stakeholders’ needs are met in a highly competitive and evolving ecosystem.
Jonathan has held a number of roles since 1998 including Commercial Director of V.me, Head of Processing, Head of Alternative Payments, Head of Commercial Solutions and Vice President, Commercial Solutions for Visa International.
Fernando has a Physics degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He joined Santander Group in 2004, and has been part of CTO and Innovation areas during these years, participating in most of the initiatives involving Customer Digital Identity, with special focus in biometrics-based IAM and onboarding processes. As part of Cybersecurity Global Team, he is currently in charge of the definition of a “Digital Trust Architecture”, assessing all technology aspects related to Digital Identity trends (biometrics, cybersecurity, privacy, etc.) as well as leading innovative proof of concepts to evaluate feasibility and possible uses of new technologies that form the Customer Centric security ecosystem.
Sophia Bantanidis is the EMEA Head of Regulatory & Market Strategy, within Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS). She joined on 1 February 2016 from Northern Trust where she managed a team as the EMEA Head of Regulatory Developments enabling the bank to commercialise regulatory change for clients as well as to comply with rules and regulations. She is on the Innovate Finance Women in FinTech 2017 Powerlist and a finalist for Women in Finance 2018 FinTech Champion of the Year.
In her current role Sophia is responsible for leading the execution of strategic objectives and market initiatives in the EMEA region. She is heavily involved in Citi’s innovation and digital agenda and shaping the industry dialogue around blockchain/ distributed ledger technology, FinTechs and RegTech. Sophia is a mentor on Citi’s Accelerator and is responsible for identifying interesting FinTech and RegTech opportunities for Citi. She works closely with global teams and country heads to ensure that emerging regulatory and market developments impacting TTS and/or its clients are identified at an early stage, industry leadership and advocacy opportunities are being pursued in order to shape change where possible and product development adjustments as well as innovation are being carried out where required. She is also in charge of developing internal and external thought leadership in the context of market developments and regulatory change and faces off to key clients (financial institutions and corporates).
Ronny has a Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering, majoring in Information Management. He has a 23+ years of history at Belfius, switching regularly between business and technology roles. Ronny loves to build new systems or organizations in situations where change management and uncertainty are important factors.
After having spent 6 years in New York for Belfius and the past couple of years as director of the commercial and trading activities of the Financial Markets division of Belfius, at the start of 2017 he took up a new challenge as managing director of the newly created the fintech and insurtech franchise of the bank, which has been called The Studio. The Studio as a technology firm has the mission to commercialize the digital expertise and experience of Belfius towards other customer groups and regions, and to also create new digital products. Currently The Studio is active in domains of robotic process automation, social media payment experiences, digital ecosystems developments and blockchain solutions for the public sector.
As Director of Technology, Bastien Latge balances his time between critical EMVCo priorities. Central to his role is the oversight of technical developments across EMVCo’s working groups and activities related to evaluations, testing and approvals. Bastien also represents EMVCo in its liaison work with other technical bodies (to ensure effective collaboration and industry alignment in EMVCo’s technical matters), and the evolution of technical initiatives for the organisation.
With his proven expertise within the payments industry, Bastien held a number of different positions linked to Strategy, Product Development and Marketing in the areas of payment (Contact, Contactless, Software Security, Cards, Terminals, etc), as well as other segments including Identity & Access Control and transportation.
Jordi Guaus is a Telecom Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and also holds a degree in Business Administration from the Open University of Catalonia.
He joined CaixaBank in the year 2000, having worked at Vodafone for 5 years as the in-charge of Corporate Market Services Development, prior to that. At CaixaBank, a leading retail bank in Spain, Jordi has worked in Mobile Financial Services, developing services including the first Mobile Internet Banking.
While working as the Head of Mobile Payments, Jordi leaded the NFC & Remote Payments related initiative at CaixaBank. Where, he was focus on Mobile Payments in collaboration with the Cards Unit of CaixaBank. Moreover, he was the Project Manager of the mobile NFC pilot in Sitges, Spain (“Mobile Shopping Sitges 2010”), the first NFC payment trial in Spain. Later, he worked in the deployment of CaixaBank’s mobile payment services.
In 2014 Jordi joined the CaixaBank’s Marketing Department as a Digital Marketing Director to give transversal support to all marketing team and to focus on innovative projects. Some of the more relevant projects managed by Jordi during this period are the launch of imaginBank, first mobile only bank in Spain, the creation of the Payment Innovation Hub together with Samsung, Visa, Arval and Global Payments, and the opening of the imaginCafe, a physical place for the millennials.
In addition, from 2008 to 2015, Jordi was member of the Mobile Channel Working Group of the European Payments Council (EPC) working on establishing the necessary standards and business rules related to the initiation and receipt of credit transfer, direct debit and card payments through mobile devices under SEPA (Single European Payment Area).
Jordi also joined the Mobey Forum’s Board of Directors in the year 2009, and he was appointed as Chairman of the Board in 2013 leading the association since them. Mobey Forum is a non-profit making, global, financial industry-driven forum, with a clear mission to encourage the use of digital/mobile technology in financial services. Furthermore, Jordi has also been coleading several expert groups within Mobey, as for example the last one, the Open Banking Expert Group, and he has participated in the publishing of several white papers as a result of that.
