State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a new mobile wallet service called State Bank Buddy (www.sbi.co.in/buddy), enabling hundreds of millions of Indians to enjoy the benefits of mobile money in a convenient, intuitive and secure manner.
The State Bank Buddy mobile wallet was launched by Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who said that the application “…is going to change the habit of a large number of users and consumers. There are millions and millions of people who use SBI, who will no longer have to rely on passbooks, where brick and mortar outlets will become redundant, and cheques will become outdated.”
State Bank Buddy is available for Android- and iOS -based smartphones and shortly for other operating systems, with support for 13 languages. Sign up is easy: customers can register normally, or by using their Facebook credentials.
